Last week really kickstarted the month of black metal in Tallinn Estonia, and Undergrounded was present as usual to cover the occasion with a photo reportage on Gaerea’s miragelous show!
Sveta Baar’s audience experienced the long-awaited arrival of the Portuguese group Gaerea, supported by a local band Condescension. Postponed first time show in Estonia and a wake-up call from a slumber for a returning local act? Yes please.
It was a night of contrast. Condescension brewed up a positive show to warm up the crowd before it was time to get serious.

Gaerea was expected to make their presence felt in Estonia already last autumn, but due to various reasons, the hungry crowd had to wait a bit longer to see the chaos unfold. Finally, the first day of the dark month of February 2023 was chosen to bear witness of this Mirage, that filled the venue of Sveta with powerful emotions and energy. Gaerea boasts strong creativity both on record and stage and represents modern European black metal at its finest. This same creativity carried the torch during the Tallinn show and left no one behind stuck in limbo.
The artistic presence of the Portuguese spoke to the public and let the music flow free. The emotional and melancholic journey of Gaerea was materialized on stage.
Masks on masks off - Gaerea found the connection to mesmerize their audience.
